Kyle Vanden Bosch agreed to contract in Detroit Lions

Kyle Vanden Bosch, defensive end has commencing with  Detroit Lions for  a four-year for $26 million deal.

Jim Schwartz, Lions coach who served as Vanden Bosch’s defensive coordinator for  four years with the Titans, visited Vanden Bosch just after free agency started and spent a few hours in his house early Friday morning.

In the first year of the contract, the deal includes $10 million
Vanden Bosch said, "I had an idea the Lions were serious about me,''. He also added, "I am excited about the opportunity and playing a role in helping that team. He expressed most crucially, 'I think you're still a great player. I don't think you've lost anything and I want you to be a player for this defense more than anything.' For him to give me that vote of confidence, it pretty much sealed the deal.''

The Titans never made him an offer.

Vanden Bosch said, "Obviously we have a lot of friends here, and we love everything about Tennessee,'' ." We love the city, the fans, the organization. But it is like graduation, you leave and you know that you are probably not coming back but you leave with a lot of fond memories and you still love a lot of the people. It will be hard, but it is going to be exciting.’’

Interest of  Mawae drawing , according to his agents

Meanwhile, Titans center Kevin Mawae has drawn a lot of interest from teams at the initiate of free agency, according to his agent.

Agent Mark Bartelstein shared  “We are talking to a lot of people,’ . “Kevin has a lot of family stuff continuing on, so he is not dying to jump on a plane and fly all over the country. He has been in the league, he knows everybody, all the situations, so he doesn’t need to get wined and dined. We may end up making a visit here and there, but it is more conversations right now.’’

The Broncos and Redskins are thought to be enthusiastic  among the teams. Bartelstein said Mawae that he  could sign on the contract except making a trip.

Bartelstein said, "We have a bunch of people we’re talking to and hopefully we can get this done pretty soon,’’
